Description

Abell 33 is another target in the Spring for narrowband imaging, which I am always looking for when the NB filter wheel is attached for the Milky Way morning hours. I was a bit late in the season for this wonderful target ("ran" into the tree after 1 hour in the evening), hence only a few hours integration time (2h53m is I believe a new low record for me in the last 2 years). I was a bit sceptical if this would be enough, but it turned out not too bad with some extra processing.

One can see the central star, and I think when you look closer it might be actually a double star (which can be seen much clearer in the image from ESO's Very Large Telescope (https://www.eso.org/public/images/eso1412a/), but it might be as well just a foreground star, always difficult to say. The diamond in this image is the 7th magnitude star HD 83535. It always surprises me (it should not, but it does) that a star of this magnitude is so bright in all our images, although not even visible with the naked eye. The power of our equipment ...

The overlay image is a (very) little tribute to the JWST, using StarSpikes Pro to create this unique diffraction pattern 😊.

For all who wished quick recovery from those post Covid symptoms, thank you so much, and it helped 😊😊😊, I believe my wife and myself got it behind us (knocking on wood), maybe a little bit left, but this can be handled.
